4 Therapy mats encompass a slightly smaller range of the energy medicine spectrum using the therapies listed here.
The one therapy missing from this list is red light therapy or photon therapy, red light therapy is another range of the electromagnetic healing wavelength spectrum. You can read more on this on our Healthy Wave Mat therapies page.
Anecdotally people have expressed that they experience almost the same level of benefit from red light therapy as they do from PEMF, and far infrared (although you could argue these therapies can’t be compared as the benefits are different and the spectrum wide between them).
One important difference between the 4 and 5 therapy mat series, is that the 4 therapy series uses only crushed crystals, resulting in a softer mats.
The 4 therapy mats also come in a wide range of sizes, from the small pads to chair mats, to full size pro mats and even cocoon style mats.

When sorting by crystal type for different mats, you’ll find many 4 and 5 therapy mats included because many of these mats will also include amethyst, jade, tourmaline, and/or obsidian.

The soft & blanket mat category of mats is rather popular, especially with those looking for far infrared only products.
All the products in this category are made using crushed crystals only, this allows the mats to be far more flexible and soft than for instance PEMF mats which because of their coils cannot be flexible.
Most mats in this category include amethyst, jade and tourmaline crystal, and some of the larger ones even include obsidian.
These mats come in a full range of sizes from small pads, to full size, to even full king and queen bed sized.
Our favorite of the whole bunch soft mats, is probably the Amethyst Far Infrared Heat & Photon Light Mat, it includes amethyst (far infrared) and red light therapy, but it’s just such a lovely weighty mat that can easily be wrapped around areas you want to target like a leg or arm with its handy handles.

The Chakra series of mats could be considered 4 therapy mats, except for the fact that they also include the 7 Chakra Stones.
This series of mats contains a unique combination of the 7 Chakra crystals designed to help align the Chakras of the body while providing PEMF and far infrared therapy at the same time.
The negative ion output of this mat will be a little lower than other Healthy Wave mats only because the Chakra crystals output a little less negative ions than for instance amethyst crystal does.
